INSTAGRAM CRIMES: How not to get blocked/disabled on Instagram
ðŸ˜Some days ago, I lost my Instagram account. I felt bad. I almost cried.
I started to research on why that happened. Two things came to my mind. It is either it was hacked and the person tried abnormal stuffs and instagram disabled the account...
Or it was clearly my own fault. This one was certain because after my research, I observed I committed many crimes.
Which ever way, the most important thing is that I learnt from the disaster.
So here, I'm going to share some Instagram crimes with you. You shouldn't dare do any of these especially when you are a newbie in the industry.
My account was disabled and I don't want you to follow similar path... Or else 🙅🙅
I am going to show you how to NEVER get your account disabled.
In the past, Instagram had no restrictions. You could like as much as you want to, comment as much as you want to. You could literally do what ever yo want to do.
But today, it is no longer that way. Strict rules have been formed and the algorithm doesn't care. It can smash your account in split seconds.
This means, all your labour can be wiped out.
There is something called Shadow blocking. Shadow blocking on Instagram means your account is going down the drain gradually.
It is often reflected when your account decreases in it's activities, when your hashtags no longer bring you new viewers.
The best thing to do when you observe your account has been shadow banned is to wait for some days without any activity.
You shouldn't post anything, you shouldn't like or comment.
Instagram shadow blocking is a gateway to your account being disabled.
Be careful!
Here are some steps to ensure you don't get disabled on Instagram.
I call them the ten commandments of Instagram.
1. Thou shall not follow too many people, like too many posts or comment on too many post at the same time.
This is the simple reason thousands of accounts are smashed. There are limitations to almost everything on instagram.
As a newbie on Instagram,
Maximum likes per hour = 30
Minimum comments per hour = 30
Maximum follows per hour = 30.
But if you have spent some time on the industry, the narrative is not thesame.
Maximum likes per hour = 60
Maximum comments per hour = 60
Maximum follow per hour = 60.
I know you are eager to grow your account but please, it is better to have a slow growing account than to have a fast growing account that will get disabled in the nearest future.
If you do any of these and you are temporary blocked, please wait for a while. Wait for a period between 2 hours and 2 weeks.
Your account will be given back to you. Or, you can log out and login again but it is dangerous.
No more than one like every 28 to 3t seconds and you shouldn't follow more than 1000 people in a day. This can lead quickly to an Instagram disabled account.
Slight abuse won't get your account blocked but these little abuses compound and will certainly make you lose your account.
2. Thou shall not get thyself reported
Be careful of spamming people. If someone presses the 'report' icon on your account, then you are in trouble.
If more persons report you, then you get blocked.
Offer value to people and don't let them see you as a threat. People only report those they see as threats.
3. Thou shall not repeat same comment
Don't make Instagram see you as a robot. Ordinarily, there is no need for you to post same comment on different posts.
When the algorithm sees these things, you are likely to be seen as a threat to the Instagram community and then gradually, your account is dying.
I will say it again.
Don't repeat comments!
4. Thou shall not comment with too many emojis
You are a human for goodness sake. Express yourself with more of words than of emojis in the comment session.
If you must use emojis only, using about two or three is okay.
One emoji is enough to pass your message. The algorithm might kick you out of you commit this crime.
5. Don't edit captions after posting.
I would like to state that the algorithm has no feelings. Instagram frowns at editing captions after posting. They will think you are trying to spam your audience.
A lot of people make a big mistake also. The mistake of putting hashtags in comment session.
Avoid it! Put your hashtags in your caption so you don't get shadow banned.
6. Thou shall not share xxx content
Social Media has rules and with Instagram, breaking rules have strict punishment.
Don't share content showing naked bodies or anything that has to do with sexual stuffs.
Don't also share documented photos like emails, drivers license and international passports.
The algorithm frowns at it.
Posting content depicting violence is a big problem too.
7. Thou shall complete thy Instagram Profile
Don't leave any stone unturned when it comes to your profile.
This will tell Instagram that you are real, you are not a bot and you are not there to spam people.
Personally, I don't follow people who have incomplete profile.
8. Thou shall not steal other people's work
But why should you take people's pictures or videos without asking for permission from them?
Even if they are your friends, take permission from them and tag them in the posts.
Acknowledged the original content creators.
Also, using someone's music in your video background is not something nice at all.
9. Thou shall verify thy Email
Not verifying your email shows you are a bot. And soon, you will be kicked out.
Instagram expects every account to be attached to an email if yours is not attached to an email, they will think you are a scammer.
10. Don't post same image on several accounts.
If you are a social media manager, there is no need to post same image on different accounts.
Every account should have its own unique images.
Don't get your Instagram account disabled!
