YOU HAVE ONLY ONE WAY TO WIN; Get more eyeballs.
If you were a very shy child, you know hawking is a very big
problem especially if you are hawking alone. Shout out to those who learnt these things
first hand. You may not be able to relate probably because you have never done
this before.
When you get to a public field, people rush at you to buy
your stuffs but if you aren’t shy to call people, this becomes a plus.
Being shy doesn’t translate to ‘No body will buy.’
But the opposing attribute will give you better results or
what do you think?
Ehen!
Same principles that apply to hawking also applies to your
digital marketing journey.
This space is not for shy people. You can probably enjoy Fiverr
or Upwork if you are shy. But in this house, you should be able to get over
that.
Wake up! The universe have little to give to persons that
cannot get up and show the world what they are capable of. You already have
stories of familiar heroes who fought for a cause and got noticed by the
universe. Some of these heroes even died trying.
You are a hero in your niche and the world needs to see you
for who you are – a champion.
In this digital space, you need to overcome shyness so more
eyeballs can notice you and so you too can achieve great feats.
LET US START BY LOOKING AT THE REASONS PEOPLE ARE SHY
GENETICS:
We all inherit some traits from our parents. Shy people tend
to marry shy people and so when they give birth, there is a tendency that some
of the children may be shy.
I was not the one who formulated this. It has been proven
genetically.
However, this rule does not apply to everyone.
ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCES:
Your environment makes you or break you. Only few persons
have been able to escape the traps set by growing in the wrong environment.
Now that you need a break out in the digital space, you need
to be willing to grow above your immediate environment. Whether it is intimidating
or it is frustrating.
TRAUMATIC SOCIAL EXPERIENCES
Some people who are extremely shy may have
experienced bullying when they were younger. While other factors may contribute
to shyness, one main cause that often leads to shyness is a traumatic experience that
perhaps involved ridicule from friends, which made the person withdraw from
other people.
Personally, I am a victim of this. The alter servants and
Choristers in my church always make jest of me when I was around my female
friends and it became an experience I dreaded so much.
Did I just say ‘jest’? It was ‘Mockery!’ and really ‘Annoying’
and ‘ridiculous.’
And by the time I was looking to break into the digital
space, shyness resurfaced because the environment I was bred always found a way
to shut me up. A whole me. LOL
